Jevita Nilson was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia.
She has degrees in Psychology and Human Resources, and has spent the past 10 years working in Human Resources and Organisational Development.
She recently started to pursue the creative life and has a passion for writing meaningful and uplifting stories for young children. Her stories often touch on the difficult emotions and events a child may experience while growing up. Her main aim as a writer is to encourage readers to discover their imagination and find a personal connection with the story.
Her debut picture book, Happy Hearts, is being published by New Holland Publishers and will be released in August 2020.
Jevita is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Children's Book Council of Australia (WA).
She is also a nature admirer, motherless mother, yoga lover, notorious overthinker, amateur photographer, creator of organised chaos, list writer, spreadsheet enthusiast, classic introvert and board game addict who thinks that breakfast is the best meal of the day.
Jevita lives in Perth, Western Australia with her husband, two children and 10 year old Labrador who is really still a puppy at heart.
